Flyleaf Announce Fall 2014 U.S. Tour

Flyleaf have announced a fall U.S. tour that will kick off on Oct. 3 in Lubbock, Texas, and will wrap Nov. 7 in San Diego. The 29-date outing will also hit the Gramercy Theater in New York City on Sept. 16 and the House of Blues in West Hollywood, Calif. on Oct. 16. The band will be joined by Ryan White and Lullwater on all the dates.

The tour will support Flyleaf’s fourth studio album, ‘Between the Stars,’ which will arrive on Sept. 16 via Loud & Proud Records. It is available for pre-order now at iTunes and Amazon.

The effort marks the band’s first full-length album with new singer Kristen May — who replaced longtime vocalist Lacey Sturm — after Sturm exited the band in 2012. It was produced by Don Gilmore, best known for his work with Pearl Jam, Linkin Park and Bullet for my Valentine.

The band released the first taste of their new music when they dropped the video for the album’s first single ‘Set Me on Fire,’ back in July.

Guitarist Sameer Bhattacharya opened up about the recording of the album: “For the first time, we went into the studio and let things happen. It was about the energy and the spontaneity of a song more than anything. It was a very refreshing approach.”

New frontwoman Kristen May adds, “It’s the most emotional album I’ve ever been a part of. There are some really heavy things and lyrics that weren’t easy to say. Everybody tried to be as raw as possible when we were writing and recording. That all came out in the songs.”

May also adds that she is looking forward to getting on the road in October saying, “We have a batch of new songs we’ve poured our hearts and souls into and I can’t wait to play them live. The music really takes on a new life when our fans are singing with us and experiencing these songs in the moment. Also, I can’t wait to listen to Ryan White and Lullwater each night. It’s going to be a magical tour.”

Meanwhile, former singer Lacey Sturm will release her memoir titled ‘The Reason: How I Discovered a Life Worth Living’ on Oct. 7.

Tickets for Flyleaf’s fall tour go on sale on Friday here.
