Flyleaf Perform ‘Magnetic’ Set in New York City With Lullwater and More
Flyleaf recently returned to New York City for an intimate show at Gramercy Theater. The band is touring in promotion of their new ‘Between the Stars’ album, which fans got a taste of throughout the night.
Although the album is the first to feature new frontwoman Kristen May on vocals, onstage she seemed right at home as she kicked off the set with the fan favorite ‘Fully Alive.’ Whether it’s May’s melodies, the high jumps of bassist Pat Seals or the overall liveliness of guitarist Jared Hartmann, Flyleaf are truly entertaining live.
The band cranked out a bevy of new tunes, including ‘Set Me on Fire,’ ‘Magnetic,’ ‘Platonic,’ ‘Head Under Water,’ ’Thread,’ ‘Marionette’ and ‘City Kids.’
Although the encore included ‘I’m So Sick’ and ‘So I Thought,’ the night didn’t end there. There was an acoustic VIP set that included acoustic renditions of new songs and ended with the notable track, ‘All Around Me.’
The Georgia boys of Lullwater took the stage as the main support and brought some good ol’ rock and roll to the night. With gritty and melodic vocals and heavy riffs the band as a whole had a loud and infectious sound. Acoustic talent Ryan White and local band Charetta opened the evening.
