As the tributes continue to flow in for the late rock and roll icon Chuck Berry, Green Day paid musical homage to the legend with an electric performance of “Johnny B. Goode” during a recent show in London, Ontario.

As can be seen in the fan-shot footage above, the band’s lineup for the performance includes Jason Freese backing the group on saxophone. Billie Joe Armstrong played to the crowd heading to the front of the stage as he riffed away on guitar, meanwhile drummer Tre Cool delivered the undeniable beat behind the rock classic.

Both Green Day members also paid their respects on social media. Cool offered, “Chuck Berry, thank you for Rock & Roll Music. You changed the world. Rest in Peace.” Meanwhile, Armstrong stated, “Thank you Chuck Berry for teaching me how to play electric guitar. #gojohnnygo.” See both posts below.
