Last night (April 24), the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards was broadcast online via various sources. To cap off the long night of rock and metal, Guns N' Roses busted out an hour-long set after singer Axl Rose was awarded the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award.

After all the night's winners were announced, an interesting celebrity duo introduced Axl Rose before he accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award. First up was comedian Andrew 'Dice' Clay, who was followed by actor (and noted metal fan) Nicolas Cage. The latter gave an intense speech about Axl and how Cage himself witnessed the very first live performance of 'Welcome to the Jungle.' Cage's intro was something straight out of 'Vampire's Kiss' or 'Matchstick Men' in terms of over-the-top dialogue, but Axl took the other route, calmly accepting the award while briefly thanking all GN'R lineups past and present.

To cap off the night, Axl walked over to the performance stage ready to jam some GN'R, but instead, viewers were treated to an uncomfortably long break while the Golden Gods production team scrambled to fix technical issues, a problem that plagued the awards show all night.

However, patient fans stuck around to watch Guns N' Roses, who performed an hourlong set packed with classics and more current material. Some fans watching at home were disappointed by Axl Rose's vocal delivery, but the crowd seemed to dig the show, thanks in part to former GN'R bassist Duff McKagan, who shared the stage with Axl and company after a number of South American reunion shows.
