Guns N’ Roses ‘Appetite For Destruction’ 30th Anniversary Ads Mysteriously Pop Up in New York City

A post shared by Del James (@deljamesgang) on

This Friday (July 21) marks the 30th anniversary of Guns N’ Roses‘ landmark album Appetite for Destruction and the band will just so happen to be playing an intimate show at New York City’s famed Apollo Theater on the eve of the anniversary. Now it’s looking like the two occasions will be intertwined as a series of advertisements have gone up around town featuring the record’s artwork with the hashtag #APPETITE30TH.

Longtime GNR associate and tour manager Del James posted a picture of a digital ad in Times Square on his Instagram account (see above) while others posted images of the various posters which have appeared all over the place, including right outside the Apollo.

No formal announcement has been made as to how the group will, if at all, mark the anniversary, but with the ads appearing to be official, it would seem that something is in the works. Whether that means Appetite will be played in full or perhaps special guests like original band members will be making appearances, remains to be seen.

The July 20 show is a private invite-only event presented by SiriusXM as a part of the limited-run Guns N’ Roses radio station on the network which kicked off last week and will run through this Saturday (July 22). Attendance to the gig is limited only to lucky SiriusXM subscribers who have been members of the network since June 7, 2017.

Those unable to attend the Apollo Theater show aren’t completely out of luck, as the band begin another stateside run of their wildly successful “Not In This Lifetime” tour next Thursday (July 27) in St. Louis. Dates are listed below, with ticketing info on Guns N’ Roses website.
