We love us some Huntress … and so should you! The California heavy metal act will release its sophomore album, 'Starbound Beast,' on July 2 via Napalm Records, but to tide you over, we've got the exclusive world premiere of the new Huntress track 'Blood Sisters' for your headbanging pleasure.

Huntress formed in 2009 after frontwoman Jill Janus recruited members of underground metal act Professor to create a new musical project. Despite Huntress only just emerging from its infant stages, the group has achieved notable success on the back of 'Spell Eater,' the band's debut full-length. Many musicians will dub a sophomore effort as the most challenging release of a group's career, but 'Blood Sisters' does not point to any sort of slump.

While maintaining the band's sonic 'Spell Eater' qualities, Huntress keep it heavy with 'Blood Sisters' while injecting some melodic death metal nuances into the track. Jill Janus casts her vocal spells throughout the track, sustaining a slightly operatic quality while projecting powerful guttural-based vocal parts. There's some sweet guitar work in the track as well, so make sure to take in the song's bridge while recovering from Janus' vocal attack.

The album 'Starbound Beast' was produced by Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed) and is available for pre-order here. You can also catch Huntress this summer on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival alongside Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie and many more. And if you'd like to help Huntress make their way through North America this summer, check out their Indiegogo campaign, in which they are offering some really cool opportunities and merch in exchange for helping to fund their road trip.
