When they announced their current 'Theatre of the Escapists' tour, Jane's Addiction searched out people who could do "outlandish" things on stage -- a request that guitarist Dave Navarro seems to have taken to heart, judging from a new video that shows him being pierced, rigged, and suspended by hooks.

Navarro's latest adventure may not be for the faint of heart (you can judge for yourself by watching the clip embedded below) and showcases an event depicting his longtime fascination with dangerous activities, which in the past, included grappling with heroin addiction, touring with Billy Corgan, and marrying Carmen Electra. As one YouTube commenter put it, "Dave, much better doing this than getting hooked on chemicals again. Whatever it takes."

Navarro's immediate future will be spent on the road with Jane's Addiction, with the band completing its tour with a recently announced final leg of dates that includes a series of shows in California. The 'Theatre of the Escapists' tour is currently scheduled to shut down Oct. 23 in Bakersfield, at which point Perry Farrell will presumably get to work on the band's follow-up to 2011's 'The Great Escape Artist,' which he's said he'd like to release within a "six-month window."
