It’s been eight years since Jane’s Addiction have unleashed a new studio album on the world, so what's a few more weeks then? ‘The Great Escape Artist’ -- their first since 2003’s ‘Strays’ -- was originally due to drop Sept. 27, but due to unspecified reasons the disc’s release was recently pushed back to Oct. 4. Now, an updated press release reveals that it won’t be out until Oct. 18.

That’s the bad news, and here’s the good news: Jane’s Addiction have lined up a trio of two-night stands in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York to celebrate the impending arrival of ‘Escape Artist.’ The first pair of those concerts will take place Sept. 24-25 at Chicago’s intimate Metro theater, with the exact location of the L.A. (Oct. 3-4) and N.Y. (Oct. 17-18) gigs to be announced shortly.

Jane’s Addiction have teamed up with Citi to offer the company's credit card holders exclusive ticket pre-sales to the Chicago gigs on Tuesday (Sept. 6) and also one-of-a-kind VIP packages, including a chance to meet the band. More info can be found here.
