The lineup for the Bass Player LIVE! Concert & Awards Show presented by Hartke, which takes place Nov. 9 in Hollywood, Calif., just got even more amazing. Jason Newsted, Sebastian Bach and Megadeth's Chris Broderick are among the artists who have been added to the stellar bill.

The aforementioned musicians will join a musical tribute to Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler that already includes Zakk Wylde, Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Rex Brown (Pantera), Frank Bello (Anthrax), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs) and David Ellefson (Megadeth).

Butler will be honored at the event along with rockabilly bassist Lee Rocker and late blues artist Willie Dixon, while jazz musician Tal Wilkenfeld will receive the 'Young Gun' award. There will also be a musical tribute to Dixon led by Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Jones.

We spoke with Jason Newsted upon learning about his participation in the event and he is definitely stoked about performing as part of the Geezer Butler tribute. "I don't think anyone else could have come before Geezer [Butler] as far as getting this honor, that's all good with me. I'm glad to be a part of it. He's been my No. 1 teacher for my entire career since I was 14 or 15 years old. I've spent the most hours of my life learning Geezer Butler lines and Black Sabbath songs. For me personally, it's a pretty big deal."

Amazingly, the former Metallica bassist went on to tell us that he has never actually met Butler in person before. "I've worshiped from a far," Newsted explains. "We've certainly been in the same rooms before and the same planes and things like that. Even shared stages over time but we've never actually shook hands ... Never too late to discover a good thing and I'll be thankful to get to shake his hand." Stay tuned for our full interview with Newsted.

Another new addition to the Bass Player Live! lineup is the evening's host, comedian Jim Norton, while Green Day's Mike Dirnt has signed on as a presenter. The concert is set for Nov. 9 at Hollywood's Fonda Theatre, with a series of bass clinics set to take place earlier that day and the following day at S.I.R. Studios on Hollywood Boulevard.
