Winter may be ending, but anticipation is building for the next season of HBO's popular series Game of Thrones. Stoking the fire for the upcoming season is a new mixtape, Catch the Throne: The Mixtape, Vol. 2, and Loudwire is thrilled to kick off the promotion by exclusively bringing you the premiere of a 40-second snippet of Killswitch Engage's contribution, a new track called "Loyalty" (listen below).

Bassist Mike D'Antonio tells Loudwire, "The character development of Game of Thrones is incredible. The script is amazing. You get locked in in the first five minutes. There's a holy s--t moment in every episode. Joel [Stroetzel] and I were already really big fans before being asked to do this and we were all very excited to have an association with the show."

In a recent interview, frontman Jesse Leach admitted he hadn't seen the show before the group was asked to contribute to the mixtape, but it wasn't long before he found himself fully engrossed in the Game of Thrones universe. He recently stated, "I started doing my research and watching some of the stuff. And while I was writing the song, I didn't really know what I was talking about. But [the show's producers] give you a concept, they give you key words that you should use and sort of a give you a storyline."

He added, "It was fun for me to work in that capacity, cause I'm used to just coming up with stuff on my off the spot. And they had a lot of cool trigger words, so it was interesting to see that come together." Leach says he's all up to date on the series after binge watching all four seasons over the course of a week.

In addition to Killswitch Engage, the Catch the Throne: The Mixtape, Vol. 2 will include contributions from Anthrax, Snoop Dogg, Method Man and Yandel. The mixtape is expected to drop in March in advance of the Season 5 debut of Game of Thrones. The new season starts on April 12 on HBO.
