Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett has had a long-standing relationship with ESP and has just announced another signature guitar. It's no secret the band, and Hammett in particular, are big film aficionados, even having ventured into producing their own film. Now, Hammett will be paying tribute to the immortal 1922 silent film, Nosferatu with the "Kirk Von Hammett" guitar.

Halloween might be far off in the distance, but the timing of the release is logical because it would be pretty hard to ask for a guitar for Halloween. Even with the holiday season upon us, the $2400 price tag (continental U.S., $2500 international) on "Kirk Von Hammett" could still prove a little difficult to find wrapped up with your name on it this year. Hey, maybe you can get the next decade of gifts advanced in the form of this spooky guitar.

With only 13 guitars in existence, those who want to get their hands on this will have to act fast. Each guitar is hand-numbered and signed by the Metallica axeman, comes with a picture of Hammett holding the guitar, a gicleé print of Nosferatu signed by Basil Gogos, — an artist known for portraits of movie monsters — a Famous Zombies Jr. figurine of Kirk and a certificate of authenticity signed by the guitarist. Shipping and insurance is included in the cost.

The guitar is available through Hammett's own company, Kirk Von Hammett Toys and can be purchased here.

Hammett has also previously released a White Zombie signature guitar through ESP. The Bela Lugosi classic is another timeless horror film and is the first feature length zombie film in history.
