Last night (May 19), Korn guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch was admitted to a Russian hospital. The health scare forced Welch to drop out of Korn's gig with Soulfly in Krasnoyarsk and the guitarist will remain hospitalized for "a few days" and will miss an unknown number of upcoming gigs.

Welch was brought to Krasnoyarsk Hospital after suffering great pain caused by a kidney stone. Korn have been performing in Russia and Belarus for a week now, and will remain in Russia until May 28, but there's no telling how long Welch will be out of action while overseas.

Welch broke the news of his hospitalization via his Facebook page:

I'm in hospital for a few days. So sorry Russia i cant be at a few shows. I have kidney stone. Thank you SO MUCH for your understanding, well wishes, prayers and love. I am very touched by your hearts in my situation.

A video was also taken of Welch in Krasnoyarsk Hospital was posted earlier today (May 20) on YouTube account 'Alex Pechenkin'. Welch apologizes for being unable to perform with Korn in Russia, also offering his thanks to 19-year-old Love & Death guitarist JR Bareis, who covered for Welch during Korn's May 19 gig. Bareis also acts as Welch's guitar tech while Korn is out on tour.

Best wishes to our friend Brian 'Head' Welch! Watch the guitarist's hospital video above.
