A new Korn tune serves the theme song for the upcoming video game 'Silent Hill: Downpour.' The track can be heard in the just-released trailer for the game.

The trailer features a protagonist who looks somewhat like Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor, and the Korn song heightens the eeriness of the clip. Some 'Silent Hill' gamers may be unhappy to see that the band's tune is the theme song.

There was an online petition creatively titled "No Korn in Silent Hill: Downpour," which included an open letter to game developers Konami and Vatra Games saying that "a nu metal band simply does not belong in silent hill and especially not one that deals with teenage angst themes, that is not what silent hill is or will ever be and a nu metal band that was cool in the late '90s and early '00s will do no good for silent hill as a game."

Well, it seems that the petition certainly didn't work its magic on the developers.

Korn are also preparing to release their 10th studio album, 'The Path to Totality,' which combines their nu-metal sound with dubstep. The new disc will feature dubstep artists such as Skrillex, Noisia and Datsik, among others, who produce various tracks on the disc. 'The Path to Totality' is due out Nov. 15 via Roadrunner Records.
