Kyuss Lives! -- a new incarnation of the classic stoner-rock outfit Kyuss featuring three-fourths of the original lineup -- have announced plans to hit the roads of North America this fall.

The trek, which will be the first North American Kyuss-related tour in more than 15 years, kicks off Sept. 16 in Toronto, Ontario, and is scheduled through a Dec. 6 gig in Buffalo, N.Y. Texas metal act the Sword or Georgia alterna-rockers MonstrO will open most dates of the jaunt, with support for a handful of shows to be announced. Kyuss Lives! recently completed a European jaunt.

Kyuss Lives! features original Kyuss members John Garcia, Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri, with guitarist Bruno Fevery filling in for former Kyuss/current Queens of the Stone Age member Josh Homme. But one big question remains: Will Oliveri be able to tour? The bassist, who also once played in QOTSA, reportedly is facing four felonies and up to 15 years in prison after an incident last month during which he engaged in a five-hour standoff with a SWAT team in Los Angeles.

Former Kyuss member Scott Reeder filled in for Oliveri on the European dates, and we wouldn't be surprised if he takes over for him on the upcoming North American dates as well, especially since the band has to cross through U.S. Customs into Canada twice. Four felonies? What is it with metal bassists and felonies lately anyways?
