'Evil' of Marduk

One of black metal’s greatest pieces of lore revolves around the 1991 suicide of Mayhem vocalist Per ‘Dead’ Ohlin. After the body of Dead was found by Mayhem guitarist Euronymous, it was rumored that he collected skull fragments from his late singer and sent them to fellow black metal bands whom he felt were “worthy.”

In a Loudwire exclusive interview with Marduk guitarist Morgan ‘Evil’ Steinmeyer Håkansson, not only did Evil confirm the 20-year-old rumor that he had received one of the skull fragments, but added that he also had been gifted with a piece of Dead’s brain along with lead from the suicide shot.
