Mastodon have done it again, keeping viewers engaged with a truly trippy new video with some sinister undertones. The clip is for the song "Steambreather" off the band's latest album Emperor of Sand. Check it out above.

In the Essy May and Stevie Gee-directed video, a pair of dudes think it might be cool to check out a posted invite promising "The Breath of Life - Release Your Inner Self." Entering the poorly attended gathering expecting to get a few laughs, one of the guys finds himself and the rest of the audience buying what the guru is selling, while his pal still holds out. Each of those at the gathering find themselves drawn the guru, almost hypnotized into taking a rather psychedelic journey through the mind. But will they like what they find? Watch the clip to find out.

The video was produced by Hugo Donkin of Blink Art, and like with many of the band's videos, there's some humor incorporated with the darker themes and eye catching visuals. "Steambreather" follows on the heels of the band's recent radio single "Show Yourself."

Look for Mastodon on tour in the coming months. After North American shows in September and October, the powerful foursome will hop a plane to Europe for November dates and finish out their touring year in the U.K. in early December. See all of their scheduled stops here.
