For over 100 years, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) hosts a gathering like no other. A tremendous amount of talented and influential individuals from all corners of the music industry got together to share ideas, set up merch booths and witness special performances from legendary artists. Each NAMM event attracts many elite musicians to the convention, and although NAMM's Winter 2014 showcase was a success, former Megadeth drummer Nick Menza had an unpleasant run-in with ex-bandmate Dave Mustaine.

The internal dynamic of Megadeth, regardless of which members filled out a lineup, has always been somewhat complicated. Drugs, alcohol an interpersonal tension have caused many musicians to rotate in and out of the legendary thrash act, one of whom is Nick Menza. After 10 years away from Megadeth, with an additional six-year leave predating that, Menza thought past tension with Mustaine was water under the bridge, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Menza shared the story via his personal Facebook page:

I had a blast at NAMM hanging with fans and old friends I also made a major mistake for trying to saying hello to Dave Mustaine at the Dean booth witch [sic] he totally blew me off and wouldn't even look at me then had his hired goons / bodyguard tell me go away, pretty lame! I'm over it and life goes on!!!

Mega thanks to all the fans who stopped by to show there support, you guys are awesome!!!

In the comments section of the post, Menza added to his statement:

Thanks for all the kinds words guys. I don't hate Dave nor was i trying to get back in the band, just a friendly hello hey how's it going, you know just normal things people do that's all nothing more, nothing less! i have so many other things going on in my life right now that even if Dave asked me back in the band i would have turned down the offer.

Menza is currently working with his band Deltanaut, along with the eponymous project Menza.
