Roll Out! Metallica's big day of music videos continues with the release of their new clip for "Confusion," seen in the player above.

As you can hear, Metallica deliver a forceful new track with "Confusion." They announce their presence with authority with a marching guitar riff working mostly in time with Lars Ulrich's drumming. The instruments are key here, with James Hetfield's vocals eventually taking over. This epic and somewhat sinister sounding piece clocks in at over nine minutes on the album.

Claire Marie Vogel directed the video for "Confusion," which centers on a woman dealing with two traumatic realities -- one as a military soldier and one as an office worker -- seemingly melting down in both realities until they intersect. Vogel's past credits include work with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Deftones, My Chemical Romance, Mastodon, Avenged Sevenfold and more.

The epic song "Confusion" will appear on Metallica's Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct album, which arrives Friday (Nov. 18). You can currently pre-order the disc at this location. Metallica are wrapping up their touring year, but you can look for much more activity on the road in 2017. At present, they're playing a show at London's House of Vans on Friday that will be webcast and have a Bay Area gig at Oakland's Fox Theater on Dec. 17. See all of their scheduled dates here.
