After Metallica played Antarctica in the winter of 2013, you probably assumed there was no corner of the globe left untouched by ‘Tallica. It turns out the thrash legends have never invaded Hong Kong, but they’re changing that in early 2017!

We’re less than a month away from the release of Metallica’s long-awaited 10th studio album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. Fans have already been spinning “Hardwired” and “Moth Into Flame” from the upcoming double album and Metallica have been jamming both tracks live. In the coming months, the thrashers will return to places like South America and Europe, but will also make their debut in Hong Kong.

35 years in the making, Metallica will play Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo on Jan. 20, 2017:

Monday we told you how excited we are to hit the ground running in 2017 with tour dates in Asia and we’re back today with a Metallica first – a show in Hong Kong! Thirty-five years and still beyond psyched to go to new frontiers, so this promises to be a very special night as we hit the stage at the AsiaWorld-Expo on January 20, 2017.
