It's GRAMMY nomination day and several rock and metal acts will now get the boost in attention that comes with a GRAMMY nod, with the winners being crowned at the GRAMMY ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Though rock and metal were left out of the four major categories, there is plenty of representation elsewhere. This year's nominees for Best Metal Performance include Baroness for "Shock Me," Gojira for "Silvera," Korn for "Rotting in Vain," Megadeth for "Dystopia," and Periphery for "The Price Is Wrong."

Disturbed got a Best Rock Performance for their version of "The Sound of Silence" as performed live on Conan. Metallica and Highly Suspect both turned up in the Best Rock Song category for their tracks "Hardwired" and "My Name Is Human." Blink-182's California, Cage the Elephant's Tell Me I'm Pretty, Gojira's Magma and Weezer's self-titled release will duel it out with Panic at the Disco's Death of a Bachelor for Best Rock Album. Meanwhile, Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression earned a nod in the Best Alternative Music Album. See all of the nominees in all of the categories here.

Be sure to check in Sunday, Feb. 12 to find out who won all the key rock and metal GRAMMY categories and watch the full GRAMMY ceremony with host James Corden at 8PM ET on CBS.
