Washington-based five-piece Alive in Barcelona have arrived on the scene with their new single "Back to Life." The track was co-written by Stevie Aiello, bassist, keyboardist and backing vocalist for Thirty Seconds to Mars.

The Dawson Scholz-directed clip primarily finds the band performing in silhouette, backlit by spotlights. But while they appear as shadowy figures, the energy of the performance is never in doubt.

String player-vocalist Jesse Barton tells us, "'Back to Life' is a very personal song to the members of this band. We have all, in very recent times lost important people in our lives, and the pain that comes with loss is not something easily overcome. We hope the listener can find comfort in the lyrics of this song, and that it may inspire them to overcome their struggle." Learn more about the band here.

Hailing from Montreal, Dead Messenger are unveiling the new video for "In The Dark" from their upcoming The Owl in the Daylight album, expected in late May via Skull Central Recordings. As you can see, director Helen Simard places the band in a pretty creepy basement and lets their high energy sensibilities take over.

"We thought it would be best to shoot the video in the scariest basement we could find in St-Henri," explains singer-guitarist Roger White. "The choppiness of the song just lends itself to stop motion, we really found that Helen Simard (director) did such a great job with the video; it really captures the frenetic energy the band produces live. Scary basement led to creepy masks and a barber’s chair … it’s just creepy as f--k."

The band will play a handful of dates in May, and readers who like the song can download "In the Dark" for free at this location.

In the aftermath of his time with Hellyeah, bassist Jerry Montano has taken up residence with Death Division. The band also features singer-guitarist Sean De La Tour and drummer Alex Rivas and they've recently been at work on Angels of the Black Dawn, Part One.

Today the group is premiering their lyric video for "The Truth." The animated clip features some live action shots of the band worked in to the intricately-designed illustrations. As for the song itself, it's a rocker with some low end that cuts through the impressive riffing and double-kick heaviness. Check out "The Truth" in the player below.

Montano, who also produced the EP, states, "Everything I have learned has led up to this moment, every victory and defeat ... born of the perfect storm. Every life lesson, every tear and drop of blood is in this one."

Italian prog metal outfit KLOGR (pronounced Key-Log-Are) are ramping up to enter the studio with producer David Bottrill this September, but first there's a new video to check out. The track "Breathing Heart" comes from the group's previous disc, Make Your Stand.

The video, shot at the historical Carpi Theatre, features Milanese actress Veronica Sogni. In the clip, a masked and robed figure roams the theater, enraptured by the music the band is playing as they're backed by a string quartet. Directed and edited by Roberto Zampa and Joba, the clip matches the emotional and heavy tone of the song.

While we wait for new music, you can pick up KLOGR's Make Your Stand album, which is currently available via Amazon and iTunes.

Come back next Thursday when we'll bring you another batch of exclusive premieres from up-and-coming acts right here on Loudwire's New Music Showcase.
