New York City Fans Show ‘Unconditional’ Love to Memphis May Fire, The Word Alive + More
Last year Memphis May Fire ended the year as a supporting act for Sleeping With Sirens on tour. This year, they have a busy 2014 ahead of them with a headlining trek and forthcoming release of their new disc, ‘Unconditional.’ They played to a packed house at Irving Plaza where support included performances by The Word Alive, A Skylit Drive, Hands Like Houses and Beartooth.
Memphis May Fire heated things up and kicked off their set with ‘The Sinner’ and ‘Alive in the Lights.’ They also performed brand-new tracks off of ‘Unconditional,’ including the songs ‘No Ordinary Love’ and ‘Sleepless Nights.’
Frontman Matty Mullins dedicated ‘Miles Away’ to his wife, who was at the show, while A Skylit Drive singer Michael Jagmin also graced the stage and helped out with the song. Memphis May Fire’s set was part rock show, part light show as the beams of light coordinated flawlessly with the music which heightened the overall vibe of the set.
The work they put into their overall production and the energy that they put into their live show earns them the headlining slot for a tour. They capped off their set with an encore that included ‘Prove Me Right’ and ‘Legacy.’
The Word Alive are one of the most passionate live acts you can see out there today. Their albums ‘Deciever’ and ‘Life Cycles’ have gotten a warm response from fans and the crowd was even more pumped when the band performed a brand new single ‘Play the Victim’ from their forthcoming new record.
When frontman Tyler ‘Telle’ Smith sings, his veins pop and the sweat pours. The force behind his words shows through when you see him live in the flesh. The rest of the members in the Word Alive unleash everything they have onstage and are nothing but unyielding live.
California’s A Skylit Drive got some East Coast love as fans crowd-surfed nonstop. The band is touring in promotion of their latest record ‘Rise’ and they definitely rose to the occasion as they performed with force.
Other supporting acts Hands Like Houses and Beartooth kicked off the night with stellar performances of their own. For a full list of remaining dates where you can catch the ‘Unconditional’ tour, go here.
