Rockers such as Nickelback, Filter and Mastodon are among the acts rocking ZZ Top songs for a new tribute album set to drop Oct. 11. The disc, 'A Tribute From Friends,' also features Wolfmother, Steven Tyler and Duff McKagan paying homage to the legendary 'Little Ol' Band From Texas.'

Nickelback offer up a version of ZZ Top smash hit 'Legs,' while Filter take a stab at 'Gimme All Your Lovin'.' Elsewhere on the disc, Mastodon rock out 'Just Got Paid,' Wolfmother kick it on 'Cheap Sunglasses' and Duff McKagan's Loaded rock out 'Got Me Under Pressure.'

“When we were told there was going to be a ZZ Top tribute album a while ago and logically asked, ‘Who are we paying tribute to?’" reads a statement from ZZ Top. "Then we found out that a bunch of great artists were paying tribute to us and we were in disbelief. For the past 40 or so years, all we've done is get out there and crank it and try to have a good time while doing so."

The band continues, "To a great extent, we've succeeded since we're still having a good time so that would be reward enough for ‘the same three guys playing the same three chords.’ Now comes 'A Tribute From Friends' and we're so delighted that our music resonates with these great musicians whom we so admire.”

One of the most intriguing tracks is a version of 'Sharp Dressed Man' by a supergroup, the M.O.B., that includes Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood and guitar whiz Jonny Lang.
