Earlier this year, Trent Reznor revealed that he was reactivating Nine Inch Nails with a revamped lineup. Now comes word from Reznor that he's quietly completed a new Nine Inch Nails album that will arrive via Columbia Records in 2013.

Nine Inch Nails had been easing their way back into the spotlight, primarily scheduling a number of high profile music festivals around the world to signify their return. But in a new press release, it's revealed that part of the reason for the slow-burn return was that Reznor had been working on completing a new Nine Inch Nails album.

In the release, Reznor confirmed that he's signed a deal with Columbia Records, home to his other band How to Destroy Angels. He states:

I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately. For the last year I've been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly f---ing great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!

Even though Reznor revealed that he had finished the disc, an official title and release date have not yet been announced. Though Reznor unveiled a new Nine Inch Nails lineup earlier this year, there has already been one defection as former Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery recently announced his exit. A couple of days later, it was announced that one-time Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck had returned to the band.
