Krokus are mourning the death of their former drummer, Dani Crivelli, who recently passed away. Crivelli, pictured at the far left above, was a member of the group from 1987 to 1989 and appeared on the band’s 1988 album ‘Heart Attack.’ An official cause of death was not revealed.

The Swiss rocker came on board in 1987, replacing Jeff Klaven behind the kit. He performed on such Krokus staples as ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Tonight’ and ‘Wild Love.’ Unfortunately, the band split after the support of the ‘Heart Attack’ album.

Commenting on Crivelli’s passing, the band stated:

We are saddened to report to you that our ex-Krokus drummer Dani Crivelli passed away. Our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones … He always kept in contact with the band over the years. We liked his straight forward, but true words about music and life. He will be missed but will keep on drumming in Rock’n'Roll heaven!

Crivelli’s other credits included the Swiss band Killer as well as the group Ain’t Dead Yet that featured Krokus’ Many Maurer and Tony Castell.

Krokus eventually re-formed but without Crivelli, most recently releasing the ‘Dirty Dynamite’ album earlier this year. The disc went straight to No. 1 in their native Switzerland and was a Top 20 release in Germany.
