Earlier this week, it was announced that Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot's Corey Taylor would be coming together for a very special announcement on May 12. The day has finally arrived and the anticipation was over — it's Ozzfest Meets Knotfest!

Sharon Osbourne was brought onstage, where she then introduced Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath as well as Corey Taylor, Clown and Sid Wilson of Slipknot. After a photo-op, Sharon took the mic back and addressed the crowd. Explaining how there was no touring metal festival back in the day and that Ozzfest filled that void, she mentioned how they helped usher in Slipknot, who have now started a festival of their own, Knotfest.

Sharon went on to reveal the big news — "Ozzfest Meets Knotfest" would be a merging of the two fests. Host Jose Mangin of SiriusXM took the mic again and introduced more of rock and metal's heavyweights, bringing Disturbed's David Draiman, Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta, former Slayer and current Dead Cross drummer Dave Lombardo, Anthrax's Scott Ian, Zakk Wylde, Huntress' Jill Janus, and Suicide Silence's Eddie Hermida.

Mangin then went on to reveal which bands would be playing Ozzfest on Sept. 24 and Knotfest on Sept. 25 in San Bernardino, Calif. at the San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds where Ozzfest made its debut 20 years ago. The daily lineups can be seen below. Tickets will go on sale May 20 at 10AM PT and more details can be found at the official Ozzfest Meets Knotfest website.

As a band who made their breakthrough in part because of Ozzfest, Taylor said, "This could be the one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of. Starting out as an Ozzfest band, coming into our own with Knotfest and now combining forces to make a little metal history...it was meant to be and I'm proud to be a part of it."
