A new website, Bandhappy, will feature live and pre-taped lessons from members of Lamb of God, Periphery, Protest the Hero, Dillinger Escape Plan and others starting Monday, Jan. 9.

Periphery drummer Matt Halpern conceived Bandhappy as a way for musicians to learn directly from some of their favorite players and teachers. Registration begins Thursday, Jan. 5, and students will be approved on a rollling basis; so far, the site has received thousands of requests from interested students.

In addition, hundreds of teachers have already signed on, including Halpern, Periphery vocalist Spencer Sotelo, Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler and guitarist Willie Adler, Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, Protest the Hero vocalist Rody Walker and more.

Bandhappy is still accepting applications for teaching positions. Interested musicians should check out the site's 'teacher registration page.'

Introductory videos for teachers and students are currently available on YouTube. The clips walk new students and teachers through the registration process, demonstrate how to set up a lesson, create a profile and provide other useful tips.

In addition to receiving taped and one-on-one lessons from established musicians, Bandhappy will offer instruction about other aspects of the music industry, from artist management to studio production.
