For over 30 years, Phil Campbell's guitar roared with rock 'n' roll might and a swinging, bluesy heft in Motorhead and was heard across 16 full lengths with the band. He's remained active since Lemmy Kilmister's passing and is poised to drop his debut album under Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons on Jan. 26. "Ringleader" can be heard in the player above and is the first single off The Age of Absurdity.

The opening moments of the track are immediately identifiable as Campbell, carrying over the same riffing ethos from Motorhead to his new band. It's a feel-good moment for Motorhead fans who are still pained by the loss of the band, but there's still some fresh twists here. Singer Neil Starr, who is the only member of the band not in the Campbell family (the rest are Phil's sons), has a gritty voice that thrusts the group into the modern age, even adding a bit of a melodic punk flair akin to Bad Religion at times.

"I am really excited for the fans to hear our debut record," comments Phil Campbell. "Every part of the process was done in Wales, from the writing, to the recording and even the artwork! The album title The Age Of Absurdity was inspired by the crazy world we live in today. The world to me seems to be a bit of a theater show so the album artwork idea just seemed to fit so well with the whole concept and album title."
