Pierce the Veil Bring ‘Spring Fever’ to New York
California band Pierce the Veil got some major East Coast love Thursday night (April 25) at Best Buy Theater in New York with support from bands All Time Low, Mayday Parade and You Me at Six for a second consecutive sold out show as part of their 2013 'Spring Fever Tour.'
Pierce the Veil hit the stage with their unique and entertaining production value and stage presence. Frontman and rhythm guitarist Vic Fuentes and the rest of the band serenaded fans who sang their teenage hearts out to audience favorites like ‘Carphernelia,’ ‘Besitos,’ ‘Bulletproof Love’ and ‘King for a Day’ among many others.
The band had great energy onstage and the backdrop was that of a psychedelic, Halloween-ish carnival/amusement park. Pierce the Veil are on tour in support of their latest album ‘Collide With the Sky’ and they performed such new tracks ‘May These Noises Startle You in Your Sleep Tonight,’ ‘Bulls in the Bronx,’ ‘A Match Into Water’ and ‘I'm Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket’ during their set.
All Time Low headlined the first night of the two-night sold out pair of shows and their supporting set had the young audience of passionate fans jumping, singing, crowd surfing and throwing their bras onto the stage for guitarist Jack Barakat. The group made just the appropriate amount of crude jokes for their young female fans who worship them.
Mayday Parade also got fans riled up during their set which also included a cover of Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know.’ Meanwhile British band You Me at Six turned up the charm during their opening performance and no doubt melted the hearts of the the young ladies throughout Best Buy Theater.
'Spring Fever' was alive and well in New York City when these bands came to town. Check here for a full list of remaining dates of the tour.
