Prophets of Rage have continued the legacy of Rage Against the Machine, which melded elements of hip-hop with the harder-edged aggression of rock and metal. And while Zach de la Rocha is not involved, fans were intrigued when rap icons Chuck D. of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill joined in. But the secret weapon of this union was the addition of DJ Lord, who came to Prophets of Rage from Public Enemy along with Chuck D.

For those who've seen Prophets of Rage, you're likely aware of DJ Lord's ability to keep fans entertained with a variety of heavy favorites alongside his work when Prophets take the stage. And he continues that genre-hopping union on a new "moshtape" he's released alongside Peyote Cody.

The set, which can be heard in the player below, finds DJ Lord scratching and blending heavier favorites as Body Count's "Civil War," Slayer's "Take Control," Iron Maiden's "Flight of Icarus" and Judas Priest's "Saints in Hell" alongside tracks from One Day as a Lion ("If You Fear Dying"), Soundgarden ("Jesus Christ Pose"), Rage Against the Machine ("Vietnow") and of course, Prophets of Rage ("Radical Eyes," "Who Owns Who," "Fired a Shot" and "Strength in Numbers").

Just hit play on the Soundcloud player below to hear Metal Shrapnel Moshtape, Vol. 2 and let the mixture of heaviness and beat take control. And if you like what you hear, it's available for download.

You can catch DJ Lord playing with Prophets of Rage this summer when the band hits the road with Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace and Ho99o9. See their tour dates here.
