Puscifer Unveil Bizarre Video for Cover of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Puscifer Entertainment

Modern music’s living contradiction, Maynard James Keenan, has delivered another bizarre piece of art with a video for Puscifer‘s cover of the Queen classic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ Having superimposed his head, along with the head of iconic drag queen Dina Martina, onto characters from black and while films, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ proves to be maniacally hilarious.

Puscifer’s cover of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is worthy of a five-star distinction, with Keenan lending his famously beautiful and soft voice to the rock masterpiece. This version remains fairly true to the Queen recording, paying tribute to one of the greatest rock songs ever written, rather than picking it apart for a potentially caustic experiment, and when listening to Puscifer’s ‘O.G. Mix’ of the anthem, it isn’t difficult to picture the late Freddie Mercury bobbing his head and smiling in approval of Keenan’s take on the epic track.

Along with Keenan, the star/starlet of this video is Dina Martina, a variety performer who is lovingly described as a tragic singer, horrible dancer and surreal raconteur. The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ video is filled with comically placed scenes featuring the floating heads of Keenan and Martina, such as a trip to the doctors office where Maynard has his twig and giggleberries checked for irregularities, while singing the line, “I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all.”

All summed up, those familiar with Maynard Keenan’s many personalities will recognize and embrace the video’s bizarre nature, all while scratching their heads thinking, “What exactly is happening inside the mind of Maynard Keenan?”
