Who are Prophets of Rage? It looks like we may have an answer. According to sources, Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk are reportedly teaming up with Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real to form a supergroup.

Yesterday (May 18), news of the website ProphetsofRage.com spread. Additionally,  a number of posters have been plastered all over Los Angeles. The influx of fans rushing to ProphetsofRage.com made it almost impossible to actually view the site yesterday, but a countdown clock with the hashtag #TAKETHEPOWERBACK is featured along with very Rage-like artwork.

Fans will have to wait another 12 days for an official Prophets of Rage announcement, but according to Billboard and other sources, it's not a Rage Against the Machine reunion, as had been speculated by fans and the media. Billboard claims Prophets of Rage will come together to perform classics from Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. RATM vocalist Zack de la Rocha is reportedly not involved in the group.

Billboard claims Prophets of Rage’s debut will take place at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3, with a show at L.A.’s Whisky a Go Go also planned. We may even see a summer tour from Prophets of Rage.

Stay tuned for more Prophets of Rage announcements as news continues to break.
