Red Hot Chili Peppers Offer Up Free Concert for Barack Obama Volunteers in Cleveland

Red Hot Chili Peppers
Ellen von Unwerth,

While Red Hot Chili Peppers are in Cleveland this weekend for their upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they figured they’d shake some hands and kiss some babies with a free concert for Barack Obama campaign volunteers, lending their support to their candidate of choice.

To get into the show, set for Sunday (April 15) at the Cleveland House of Blues, all you have to do is a little phone work in Northeast Ohio for the Obama re-election campaign. Fans can sign up to volunteer for the phone bank here, and if it’s not too late, secure your spot at the show.

The band, supporters of President Barack Obama, say this is their way to help out the cause. According to the Obama camp, this is the first time a rock band has offered their services, but this could certainly be the start of a good thing.

On the other side of the coin, Gene Simmons recently publicly endorsed Mitt Romney, but no word yet on a Kiss benefit show for the Republican candidate.

When not rocking out for the commander-in-chief, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are gearing up for their upcoming world tour, check out all the dates here.
