Red Hot Chili Peppers are building up to the June 17 release of their latest album, The Getaway, and the band has just unleashed the title track for fans to check out.

The song, heard in the player above, is more mid-tempo fare from the group, opening with some distinctive guitar picking with Anthony Kiedis' vocals over the top. Eventually the song picks up in pace and even finds the band using female backing vocalists at one point. Kiedis sings in the chorus, "Another lonely superstar / To get away inside your car / Take it much too far / Surrender to the brave inside / A lover that another tried / Take it, too my ride."

The song is featured on The Getaway album, which is due June 17 via Warner Bros. The album was produced by Danger Mouse, and of the two songs we've heard so far, it appears as though his influence is felt in the music. Acclaimed Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich mixed the album. You can currently pre-order the disc in a variety of options at this location.

Red Hot Chili Peppers recently resumed their touring at Rock on the Range over the weekend and you can look for a major road ahead of them. See where they're playing here.
