As we learned late Thursday night (Dec. 3), Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota at the age of 48. The rocker was best known for his work fronting Stone Temple Pilots and later Velvet Revolver, though in recent years he had been focusing on his band Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts.

Weiland was a truly gifted vocalist and entertainer and the loss of such a talent has been hard felt by the music community. Almost as soon as the news broke, musicians began to weigh in with their comments via social media, most hoping that the news wasn’t true.

Below is a sampling of artists who have checked in with their thoughts on Weiland and we’ll continue to add as more comments come in. Our condolences to Weiland’s family and his extended musical family.

Sad day. RIP Scott Weiland
