Scar the Martyr Unveil Their Live Show During New York Gig With Unlocking the Truth + Nuse
Slipknot’s Joey Jordison is known for his potent drumming skills and he brought that intensity with his new project Scar the Martyr for the band's first U.S. show. The gig, at Webster Hall in New York City, featured support from Unlocking the Truth and Nuse.
Along with Jordison, Scar the Martyr's touring lineup features singer Henry Derek, guitarists Jed Simon and Kris Norris, keyboardist Joey Blush and bassist Kyle Konkiel. As the lead vocalist, Derek displayed force onstage, with hair-flying action and some serious headbanging.
The band got fans rocking with tracks from their self-titled debut album, which is due out Oct. 1, including their first single ‘Blood Host.’ Even though New York got the first taste, Scar the Martyr are already on the road with Danzig and Huntress. Go here for a full list of dates.
Unlocking the Truth undoubtedly stole the show seeing that the band is made up of three talented sixth graders. The trio performed some original music along with their rendition of Chelsea Grin’s ‘Requiem’ and a facemelting version of 'The Star Spangled Banner.’
This pre-teen metal act hails from Brooklyn and not only possess heavy breakdowns but charm and professionalism onstage. This is all due to the support from their family and friends who lined the front row and rocked out throughout the band's entire set. A lesson to all parents: If your kids show a passion for metal, let them rock!
Nuse celebrated their 20th anniversary together and kicked off the night with a solid set. Check out our exclusive photos of Scar the Martyrm Unlocking the Truth and Nuse below:
