- Is is a boy or a girl? Scott Stapp let the crowd at the 13th Annual Bat Fest in Austin join with he and his family as they revealed the sex of his upcoming child onstage. Stapp's wife Jaclyn is reportedly due around Thanksgiving. Watch a TMZ video of the announcement above.

- Rev those engines! It's time for a standoff in the new Sons of Texas video for "Beneath the Riverbed." Watch the clip here and catch the song on the band's upcoming album, Forged by Fortitude, which is due Sept. 22.

- Baroness will take part in a benefit show designed to raise funds for the Hope for the Day suicide prevention organization. The show takes place Sept. 10 at the Brooklyn Bazaar in Brooklyn and features live Q&A and art show along with Baroness performance. Tickets will be on sale here as of this Wednesday (Aug. 23) at 10AM ET.

- Amon Amarth have retired their very first Viking ship. As seen on Johan Hegg's Twitter account, the ship now sits at the Summer Breeze festival grounds in Germany, flanked by carved wooden statues of the Amon Amarth members created by the boat's artist Daniel "Sana" Alt.

- While She Sleeps head to the streets of Thailand, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong for their latest video shoot. Watch the clip for the high energy rocker "Steal the Sun" right here. Look for the band on tour with Arch Enemy and Trivium in October, November and December.

- It's time to get your freak on ... with a little help from Lynch Mob. The band performs at a freak show in their new video for "Mr. Jekyll and Hyde," which features a guest turn from members of Beasto Blanco. Watch the clip here. Lynch Mob's The Brotherhood album is due Sept. 8.

- Evanescence guitarist Jen Majura has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help fund her second solo album. The disc is titled InZENity and is expected in early 2018, with guest turns from Testament's Alex Skolnick, Annihilator's Jeff Waters and Freak Kitchen's Mattias IA Eklundh.
