The 2000s brought us a lot: social media, iPods and so many of the things we are nostalgic about now—including screamo. Sceamo was an offshoot of emo’s mainstream wave; screamo bands took accessible melodies and tossed them into a blender of high-pitched screams and winding guitars.

Regardless of what metal and rock purists, thought of the era, it was actually a great era of music that mattered to thousands of fans. Many of those albums went on to receive Gold and even Platinum certifications. However, as with any movement, it eventually reached a saturation point and produced plenty of releases that should stay forgotten.
