Slash Says He Has Not Committed to Attend Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions
For all the Guns N' Roses fans hoping and praying that the members of the band (like Slash and Axl Rose) will be able to bury the hatchet and perform on stage together for the first time in years at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, don't hold your breath just yet.
Slash posted on his official Facebook page that he has not committed to attend the ceremony and anyone who has spoken to the contrary has no authority to do so.
Slash posted this short but sweet note about the matter: "For the record, I didn't RSVP, or in any way commit to attending the RRHF. I don't appreciate people putting words in my mouth."
So there is a little hope. Slash is just clarifying that he hasn't RSVP'ed yet and has not confirmed that he will attend at this time. Notice that he didn't say he won't be or isn't RSVP'ing. Accentuate the positive, right? The dream of a GN'R reunion, even if only for an evening, remains alive. Slash is a cornerstone of the GN'R legacy and we can't imagine that he wouldn't attend and celebrate his important contributions to rock and roll as a genre. He deserves and has earned this accolade.
The induction ceremony is set for April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio. The event will be taped and then air on HBO in early May. Let's hope Slash submits an RSVP sooner or later!
