It's a celebratory time for the current and former members of Guns N' Roses and not just because they are gearing up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, which is set to take place in April, or because Slash has a new album coming out in May! Two key members are celebrating birthdays this week, which was acknowledged by Slash via Twitter.

Ex-GN'R and current Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan turned 48 yesterday (Feb. 5), while singer Axl Rose hit the half-century mark today (Feb. 6), celebrating the big 5-0.

Slash, who will drop his new solo album on May 22, posted the following Tweet about the birthdays:
"Duff's bday yesterday, the redhead's today, Happy Birthday f---ers! iiiI; )"

Notice that Duff is referenced by name, while Axl is referred to as "the redhead." Interesting, yes. But it also sounds like a term of endearment. Even though there is bad blood between Slash and W. Axl, the birthday wish does feel like a bit of an olive branch being extended. Is this the first step in a process of healing, where GN'R reunite for the HoF induction? You never know. We could be reading a lot into it, too.

But Slash did acknowledge Rose's birthday when he could have just ignored or plain old forgotten about it.
