As the year winds down and fewer new songs hit the airwaves, we're forgoing our traditional Cage Match in favor of the Classic Cage Match! Here we pit two classic tracks that came out long before Loudwire ever started the Cage Match and see how they fare against each other. This first-ever Classic Cage Match features two songs off legendary 1986 metal albums.

In one corner, thrash heroes Slayer enter the Classic Cage Match with 'Raining Blood' off 1986's iconic 'Reign in Blood' album. Featuring wicked guitars from Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, thunderous drums from Dave Lombardo and scorching vocals from Tom Araya, 'Raining Blood' is as classic as metal gets!

In the other corner are thrash titans Megadeth and their single 'Peace Sells' from their 1986 album, 'Peace Sells … But Who's Buying?.' On the classic track, Dave Mustaine's lyrics speak to the heart of what being a metalhead is all about. Incidentally, the video for the song features a kid wearing the shirt of Megadeth's Classic Cage Match opponents  - Slayer!

So turn the volume all the way up to 11, listen to these classics once more and then vote for your favorite between Slayer's 'Raining Blood' and Megadeth's 'Peace Sells.'

(This Cage Match will run until Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 2PM ET. Fans can vote once per hour! So come back and vote often to make sure your favorite song wins!)

Slayer, 'Raining Blood'

Megadeth, 'Peace Sells'
