He probably won’t be playing and boogie blues or southern rock, but Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor will pick up an acoustic guitar and hop onstage at ZZ Top’s First Annual La Grange Fest this Saturday (Oct. 22) in Austin, Texas.

The unlikely stop will precede Taylor’s first ever solo tour, which features Taylor performing a solo acoustic set and reading passages from his first book ‘Seven Deadly Sins.’

In addition to ZZ Top and Taylor, the La Grange Fest will also feature Lynyrd Skynyrd and country singer Jamey Johnson.

"I really can't say how excited I am to be sharing the stage with Skynyrd and ZZ Top," Taylor says in a press release. “Just from a fan's point of view, I can't wait to see these bands. I'm trying to figure out what I can bring to the table, but I'll do my very best. And of course, it's always good to be back in Texas.”

Added ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons, “We're looking forward to having a good time with all of our friends and fans. Down Austin way is gonna be the place to be that day, doncha know."
