Grunge legends Soundgarden are expected to have an incredibly busy 2017, already having booked a number of festival dates. With a new album currently in the works, the quartet will take a a studio break to hit the road in the spring on a U.S. tour centered around their fest stops.

The trek will launch on April 28 with a series of Florida dates as Soundgarden headline the WXTV Rockfest, Welcome to Rockville and Fort Rock. From there, the band will mix in standard concert dates with more festival stops until the run concludes on May 27 at Rocklahoma. Support will come from The Dillinger Escape Plan and The Pretty Reckless on select dates (see below).

Pre-sale tickets for those signed up to the band's website and / or singer Chris Cornell's website will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 10AM local time. Tickets for the general public will be on sale on Friday, March 3 at 10AM local time.

Late last year, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil spoke with Full Metal Jackie about the band's 2017 plans. Discussing how work was currently underway on a new record, he said, "I think in 2017 we’ll find more time for us to get together and write and then hit the studio. Given the writing and recording part, you’d hope to have something out next year in 2017. The whole process is a little different now because of other commitments. We could take breaks in between and do some touring or – it’s hard to tell. I think King Animal transpired over a period of … Trying to think, over a year or so? It’s hard to tell, but I think we could probably aim for the fall of 2017."
