Sunset Strip comedic glam metal band Steel Panther have been down under too many times to count (as documented in 'Eatin' Ain't Cheatin'') but the band just made their first Australian appearance playing at the 2012 Soundwave Festival. Frontman Michael Starr and drummer Stix Zadinia gifted the Aussies with some incredibly funny interviews from the airport and from backstage at Soundwave.

Steel Panther frontman Michael Starr was greeted at the airport by SoundwaveFestTV, taking the opportunity to speak about the little-known fact that he in fact holds a PhD in English Literature. "I don't like to bring it up, because it's embarrassing," says Starr. "I'd rather be the doctor of metal. Truth be told, I don't have a PhD, I have a severe drug problem and I'm an alcoholic."

After joking around and sharing his excitement about finally bringing the band to Australia, Starr teamed up with Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadinia for an interview with MusicFeeds.TV from backstage at the Soundwave Festival. This interview was a bit more X-rated, with the band talking about their already legendary conquests with the ladies of Australia. "That's the thing about Steel Panther that other bands aren't privy to is that we're being of service," claims Starr. "It's not just about me, it's not just about him (Stix), it's about us getting laid."

Starr continued, "I think that's one thing a lot of bands miss the boat on. It's like, you've gotta give to get." Stix chimed in, "Sometimes you give a little V.D. by accident."
