Back in April, Steven Tyler hinted that Aerosmith were "probably doing a farewell tour" in 2017. Not long after, guitarist Joe Perry issued a statement that while a "farewell tour" was something that had been discussed for the last five years, it was not something that had been firmly decided upon. But it now appears that the members of Aerosmith are indeed planning to play their last hurrah in 2017.

Frontman Steven Tyler called in to the Howard Stern Show earlier this week to discuss his solo country album, but the talk also included discussion of Aerosmith's plans. Tyler told Stern, "I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … We're doing a farewell tour, but only because it's time. We've never done that."

Stern then asked if Tyler was sure and the vocalist responded, "I think so. Next year." Knowing that Tyler and Perry haven't always been on the same page, Stern asked if Perry was aware of the farewell tour, to which Tyler offered, "Mmhmm."

As of yet, no official details have been confirmed regarding an Aerosmith 2017 Farewell Tour and as 2017 is still quite a way away, it may be a while before there's information. But we'll keep you up to date when shows are revealed and confirmed.
