Stick To Your Guns, ‘Married to the Noise’ – Exclusive Video Premiere

Subscribe to Loudwire on

Stick To Your Guns have always represented melodic hardcore to its fullest. In the years they’ve been together as a band, many other groups have come and gone, hopping from one trend to the next. But Stick To Your Guns have … well … stuck to their guns — and one need look no further than their new music video for “Married to the Noise,” premiering right here at Loudwire. The track comes off their upcoming album, True View, which arrives Oct. 13 via Pure Noise Records.

Of the song, singer Jesse Barnett says, “The older I get, the more I’m met with ‘Oh wow, you still do that?’ or ‘LOL, you still listen to that?” Every time, my answer is, ‘F-k yes.’ This scene was never a phase for me. Through every amazing and horrible thing that has happened in my life, this music has been by my side. I’m so grateful to this music, for the people it brought into my life, the places it has taken me, and for the ethics that have shaped me. This may have been a passing phase for some people, but for me there was no other choice”

Guitarist Josh James adds, “Contained in music is more than just a sound. For me, it was my first love. It was a teacher, a philosopher, an absent parent, a best friend, and a true place of refuge. Music has been right by my side for every step of my life, and I can’t imagine what my reality would be if I never would’ve been sucked into the speakers at such an early age. What the five members of STYG have in common the most is that beyond a shadow of a doubt, music is our truth. We are all married to the noise.”

And drummer George Schmitz explains, “While writing about how much this music means to people isn’t reinventing the wheel, it’s something that we can’t stop focusing on. This music had gone far beyond just entertaining us; it has undeniably molded and shaped our lives. It has informed our world views and ideologies, it has inspired us, it has challenged us, but most importantly, it has given us purpose and direction. I can’t imagine what my life would have been without this music and we know our fans feel the same. Now more than ever, we need to take stock of what this music means to us and help foster and grow our collective global scenes. We can never forget how much power this music has.”

Instrumentally, the band is as vicious as ever, with the video illustrating the energy one can find in their live show. In a tight enclosed space, the band bounces to the track’s beat, guitars swinging with no care in the world. The tune weaves together its heavy verses with bursts of melody in its choruses, providing an exciting ride that’s bound to surprise listeners.
