Though initially arriving during the height of the grunge explosion and being lumped in with acts of the era, Stone Temple Pilots eventually showed the range of sound and styles to break free of the initial comparisons. Over the next decade or so, the band continued to evolve their sound and see their star rise with a succession of albums.

Though the early 2000s saw the members of the band go their separate ways and test out other projects, they did eventually reunite for one more album before yet another split and the replacement of vocalist Scott Weiland. Though the band did record an EP with Chester Bennington on vocals, that is not part of this list as we focus solely on their full-length studio albums.
