It may not quite reach the red planet, but 30 Seconds to Mars are about to make their debut in the realm of outer space. The band's new single 'Up in the Air' will actually be launched into orbit on Friday (March 1) to eventually reach its destination of the International Space Station.
30 Seconds to Mars were a surprise name when the lineup for next summer's Download Festival was revealed, which suggests that the group who played an ungodly amount of shows for their 'This Is War' album have returned to work on their next release.
There's a stigma that comes with actors trying their hand at rock and roll, but if there's a case study to follow of how to do it right, 30 Seconds to Mars' Jared Leto may be the one. The rocker downplayed his celebrity and he and the band had to wait out their commercial success until their sophomore set, 'A Beautiful Lie.'
When 30 Seconds to Mars finally wrapped up their monster ‘Guiness Book of World Record’ breaking world tour in support of ‘This Is War,’ the future of the band was a bit unknown. Although they never went on record to say they were breaking up, they never denied the claim either - leaving fans to speculate and fear the worst.
With only a few shows left on their massive tour, 30 Seconds to Mars had an unforgettable concert at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom last night (Dec. 6), also known as "white night' (Dec. 6) where most fans donned white from head to toe.
MTV's 'Unplugged' was one of the network's most popular shows in the 1990s, when the likes of Nirvana, Hole, Kiss and LL Cool J stripped down and performed acoustically before a live studio audience. It's a cool convention where rock bands show off their "sensitive" side, and the Jared Leto-fronted 30 Seconds to Mars did just that when they recorded an 'Unplugged' session for MTV.
