It was a huge year for Avenged Sevenfold and that's reflected by the voting in the 3rd Annual Loudwire Music Awards, where there group earned three honors. The band walked away with Best Rock Song of 2013 for 'Hail to the King,' while Synyster Gates won Best Guitarist of 2013 and the group as a whole won the Best Rock Band of 2013 trophy.
After a successful inaugural Rise Above Fest in 2012, Seether are bringing the event to a new venue in 2014. This year, Avenged Sevenfold will be the headliners for the May 10 festival in Bangor, Maine. Seether will of course be on the bill, as will Motorhead, Hellyeah, Trivium, Kyng, Devour the Day, Black Stone Cherry, Muckler's Circle and Skindred.

Following the tragic passing of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan, former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy manned the sticks for the band on the 'Nightmare' album and subsequent tour. Avenged Sevenfold have just released their 'Hail to the King' animated series along with a trailer for the band's 'Hail to the King: Deathbat' mobile video game. The cartoon series consists of six episodes animated by 'Metalocalypse' director and co-producer Jon Schnepp, while the mobile video game emulates the classic "beat 'em up" style of classic console games.
Despite the success of their latest album, ‘Hail to the King,’ which arrived on Aug. 23, Avenged Sevenfold have had to deal with their fair share of detractors, including some trash talk from their peers in the metal world. Most notably, Machine Head’s Robb Flynn a very public dig at A7X, criticizing the band’s authenticity referring to their latest offering as a “covers album.”
Avenged Sevenfold are taking fans straight to hell and back in their new fiery video for the song ‘Shepherd of Fire.’ The track, from Avenged Sevenfold’s 2013 release ‘Hail to the King,’ was also included in the ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ video game series as part of the DLC ‘Apocalypse,’ giving fans a good idea of the tone and direction of the song and subsequently, the new video.
