Black Label Society
Over the weekend in Los Angeles, the Bass Player Live! Concert & Awards Show honored Black Sabbath‘s Geezer Butler. Several rockers teamed up to jam, and Butler joined in on the last couple of songs. Among the numerous luminaries in attendance was Black Label Society's Zakk Wylde. In a red carpet interview, Wylde revealed details about the next BLS studio album.
Black Label Society have unveiled the video for 'Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone,' a cover of the classic Bill Withers song. It's from the live CD 'Unblackened,' due out on Sept. 24. A live DVD, also called 'Unblackened,' but with a slightly different track listing, comes out the same day.
Black Label Society are scheduled to drop the live double album 'Unblackened' on Sept. 24. The record will offer stripped-down versions of Black Label Society fan favorites, but Zakk Wylde and the boys have included a little surprise in the form of a Bill Withers' 'Ain't No Sunshine' cover, which you can listen to right now.
Black Label Society are known for being loud -- very loud -- but with their new ‘Unblackened’ DVD and CD, they show off their more melodic side while still keeping their thunderous sound. Even though 'Unblackened' isn't due until Sept. 24, frontman Zakk Wylde gave a select few a preview of the new discs at the Collective School of Music in New York City.
On Monday night (June 10) at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York City, Zakk Wylde invited fans to what was sure to be a unique show. Before his death, the one and only Les Paul played at the Iridium every Monday night with the Les Paul Trio. Posthumously, the tradition lives on, but where Les Paul once played, guitar greats are invited to help honor him. Wylde's presence onstage with the Trio proved even more exciting as it was the day after what would have been Les Paul's 98th birthday.
